Restaurant review

This week I discovered a new hipster restaurant, which is now on my favourites list. Miss Wang, is in Majestic Hotel Tower, Mankhool Road, Bur Dubai. An awesome place with a great vibe and lovely ambience. Delicious menu, offering an asian cuisine. Great service and a live band. A great place to let yourself loose, sing, dance and just chill.

We settled at our table and ordered our first round of drinks. The wife ordered the regular ‘Sex on the beach’. I felt adventurous and ordered for the ‘Firestarter’. A cocktail inspired by tom yum soup. I was warned by my waitress that it is spicy. Unafraid, I reverted ” Bring it on”. Just one sip of the “Firestarter was enough to set the sparks off. As the sip traveled down my gullet, I could feel it touch every tissue on its way down. This one is only for Bravehearts. Though the aftertaste is spicy and sweet. Its the process of drinking it that proved difficult. I am sure there will be a lot out there who would love the taste.

Afterall the ingredients in this are Vodka, coconut syrup, lemongrass, lime leaf, ground chilli, galangal and sugar syrup.

The wife enjoyed her ‘sex on the beach

I ordered my next drink. This time playing it safe, I asked for my waitresses advice. She recommended the tropical storm.

Ingredients: dark rum, malibu rum, ginger beer, lime, pineapple juice, cilantro.

I loved this one to the last sip. We ordered some starters. starting with sweet potato fries, which were delicious with mayonnaise.

The Asian Fish and chips, which were mouthwateringly soft and crispy. Reminded me of my trips to London. the fish was a little oily but full of the fishy goodness we all love.

I also ordered for the Tom yum soup, an authentic Thai style soup with succulent soft shrimp, galangal, lemongrass, chili and shitake mushrooms. I totally recommend this one.

For the mains, we ordered Street pad thai, rice noodles served with chicken and bean sprouts. This again was quite interesting.

Finally, I ordered for Sake BBQ pork skewers cooked with their secret sauce. They tasted delicious, soft pieces of pork with a sweet sauce.

My tickling taste-buds had a ravishing good time and so did my wife. The live band was fabulous. I requested for a song ‘Unbreak my heart – Toni Braxton’ which was sung beautifully by their lead singer with the equally soulful band.

Thanking our waitress and the manager. We left feeling awesome, having discovered a new hip place right in our neighborhood.

” I love you Miss Wang” I whispered, not wanting to get my wife jealous.
