Friday afternoon, lazy as usual. But with family visiting, we decided to venture out for a lazy lunch. The wife suggested we to go to a place that serves Hyderabadi biryani. After some zomatoing around, we zeroed in on Golconda paradise at oudh metha road. The location was close to where we live and the menu seemed tempting enough to awaken the friday comatosed brain. We ventured in to be greeted by Imran the friendly manager and Famida the marketing manager for the restaurant.
We ended up ordering a whole lot from the menu as our Friday hunger suddenly rose from the lazy zone. we started off with the
1) Mutton maraz soup – 3.5 stars
delicately cooked tender pieces of mutton in spicy soup like broth
2) chicken/veg Hot and sour soup – 3 stars
average to the palate nothing exceptional here
Appetisers
1) Loose prawns – 3.5 stars
soft spicy and tender
2) pepper fish – 4 stars
soft spicy and tender
3) Chicken lolipop – 2.5 stars
overcooked
4) Appolo fish – 4.5 stars
excellent
5) Dry manchurian – 4 stars
spicy and well cooked
6) Chilli Paneer – 2.5 stars
paneer was slightly rubbery
Main Course
Hyderabadi Biryani / Veg Biryani- 5 stars
Brilliant
Butter chicken/ Butter naan – 4.5 stars
Rich, creamy and right amount of spice. Chicken pieces tender.
Desserts
Gulab Jamun – 4 stars
Gubani ka meetha – 3.5 stars
Kaddoo Kheer – 4 stars
