Hola my lovelies. I have been sharing with you some of the super cool places in Dubai to chill out. Let’s add one more to the list. Last evening, my lovely wife and I, sauntered into The Blue Bar inside Novotel world trade centre, at the lobby level on Sheikh Zayed Road. The experience was truly a memorable one doubled with great hospitality, impressive cocktails, delectable food and a live band.

We were greeted by the supervisor Ganesh and the lovely manager Dragana who escorted us to our reserved table. The crowd was mostly expats who were fun time. The crowd enjoyed and applauded the performance by the live band: Veronica’s Vintage Jazz.

First to arrive were our signature cocktails, ‘Beyond the sea’ -George Benson and   specially prepared by the very talented bartender ‘Shankar’. He asked me to name the other which was for my wife. I instantly named it ‘Sophisticated lady’ -Louis Armstrong.

The Signature cocktails kickstarted the evening with a bang for us. Before we knew it we were already swaying to the jazzy tunes, as the smooth cocktails entranced us sip by sip.

Next, we ordered a food platter. Beautifully presented, it had the

Crispy Calamari: soft fishy on the inside, crisp and brown on the outside (5 stars)

Popcorn shrimp: yummy soft popcorn style shrimp, couldnt stop popping them (5 stars)

Cheesy balls: little balls of cheesy delight burst onto our palates. dipped in the choice of sauces ,these were heavenly

Shrimp bags: little bags holding the delectable soft shrimp. Once again these dissapeared real quick.

Spring rolls and samosas: these were just okay compared to the fishy delights.

Next, we ordered the Blue bar Chicken burger, this was a jumbo sized burger with a juicy chicken patty and soft appetising buns, with a side of aubergine fritters and greens.

The sauces on the platter were creamy and flavourful.

My wife also ordered for ‘Cinderella’ a flavourful mocktail with a pineapple and orange base.

As the evening wore on, I ordered for my next drink a signature cocktail once again. This time it was ‘Jamming’ like Bob Marley, A flavourful white rum mixed with malibu.amaretto, peach snappes and pineapple.

Feeling bolder after this amazing cocktail, I ordered another one, this time the signature ‘Thrill is gone’, with my favourite spirit Bourbon whisky, drambue blended to perfection with home made cinnamon and ginger syrup.

The evening ended on a sweet note with a chocolate fudge pastry with some berries and a dollop of mouth watering ice cream.

We had a glorious time at the Blue bar and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to chill and feel pampered at the same time.

Bidding goodbye to our lovely hosts Dragana, Ganesh, Shankar and Chef Vinay Kharbhatkar, we left feeling gratified and tanked up with the awesomeness of the Blue Bar.
