Restaurant Review

 

This Friday, I was invited to a food tasting at the Ala Al faham restaurant in Deira. I and my wife sauntered out to try out this place. We were welcomed by Ana our Maitron D’ with a big smile and were asked to sit wherever we were comfortable. They have a couple of tables indoors and good spacious sitting outdoors. Since the weather was really cool and beautiful, we decided to sit outside. Ana informed us that their speciality is Charcoal grilled chicken shawarma. Unlike the electrically grilled shawarma, the charcoal grilled chicken has a different flavour, which is very pleasant and flavourful. We started off with drinks and appetisers and moved into the main course. Of all that we ordered, what resonated the most with our taste buds was the charcoal grilled chicken shawarma. The hummus and bread were passable. The drinks were average. But the charcoal grilled shawarma was delectable. Even the jalapeno cheese poppers were good. The fish and chips with tartar sauce were delectable. this fish was Dori and the chips were thin slices of fried potatoes. Highly recommended is the charcoal grilled chicken shawarma which gets a 5 out of 5 stars.
